PRODUCTION & PROCESS

From our first collection in 2018, the transcendent swimwear brand have crafted with an emphasis on high-quality constructed garments made locally in Australia. We produce in small batches, allowing us to produce based on demand, avoiding excess waste. We design with longevity in mind, to stand the test of time.

Designing on our own terms father than industry standard allows for a slower, more meditative design process and leaves room for freedom and creativity.

Building a business model that supports onshore manufacturing utilizing a locally-based small-batch production model has always been at the forefront of our mission. Each Innes Lauren swimsuit is made within a small woman owned and operated production house in Brisbane who specialise in swim.

The brand is privileged to have close relationships with our trusted suppliers and makers, who share the same values, taking their time to cut and sew each piece. Our designer Innes still ties and attaches each swing tag for every garment made by hand.

MATERIAL

Innes Lauren swim is proudly sustainable, utilising fabric crafted from 100% recycled textiles. We source our material from the eco-focused Aquafil, the innovators behind Italian techno-fabric ECONYL. This sustainable project sees the company create regenerated nylon yarn from disregarded fishing nets gathered by registered charity Healthy Seas. It’s not only a new lease on life for tonnes of marine debris, but a leading solution to the rising crisis of ocean pollution - currently 8 million tonnes of waste end up in our seas each year, with 640 thousand tonnes of fishing nets abandoned to the sea floor. You can learn more about ECONYL’s ingenious process here.

Each piece is self-lined, with a second layer of our fabric to support both the wearer and the integrity of the piece. We have tested our fabric for durability and feel, ensuring that our swimwear can be worn often and loved with use.

VALUES & ETHOS

Sustainability, integrity and conscious design: we live our values, which center on connection to self, others, and environment. Innes’s ethos, for not only herself but her business, is to inspire others to pause and breathe, to consume with consideration to the environment, to invest in timeless pieces made well, and to enjoy all the simple gifts life offers.

Capturing the art of stillness and detail in each of the brand’s classic silhouettes remains Innes Lauren’s modus operandi.

We continue to explore and educate ourselves about how we can improve industry practice to create new pathways toward a more sustainable fashion industry for ourselves and the community around us. If you have any questions or comments please email info@inneslauren.com.
